monday.com Contract Register Template
Editable monday.com contract register. Operational notice flags only. Not legal advice. Not a CLM.
Download the monday.com contract register
Use this monday.com contract register template to track each agreement's owner, status, expiry date, notice window, next decision and source-document pointer. The download contains an editable workbook and CSV board-import files plus seven fictional cases for testing the setup before you add live records.
Import the register, recreate the documented column types, and build the provided review views. A named person still decides whether to renew, amend or terminate each agreement and records that decision in the register.
What the download includes
- a monday.com column and board recipe based on the shared Flowgrammer contract-register field map
- Closed statuses, ownership roles, reminder and escalation fields, duplicate checks and version pointers
- Seven fictional vendor-agreement cases, including missing dates, duplicate records and an unavailable owner
- A notify-only reminder design that leaves contract decisions with the named owner
- Setup notes, test expectations and a decision record for documenting exceptions
Limits to confirm
- Notice-window calculations are planning aids and do not constitute legal advice or contractual notice.
- Attachments and workspace links should point to the authoritative agreement; the register is not the sole document repository.
- Permissions, activity history and version history help operations but do not certify the process.
- Formula columns, automation actions, activity log access and residency options vary by plan; confirm the current behavior in your workspace.
- Flowgrammer has not validated this starter in your tenant. Test a copy with fictional data before relying on it.
Test before adding live contracts
Run the fictional cases and agree the expected result with the people who own contract operations.
| Test case | Expected result |
|---|---|
| Expiry date is missing | Keep the notice date unresolved and assign a person to obtain the missing term |
| Two records point to the same agreement | Hold both records for duplicate review; do not merge evidence automatically |
| The contract owner is unavailable | Route the item to the named escalation owner without changing the contract decision |
| A reminder is missed | Keep the agreement in review; a missed notification never means renew or terminate |
| Someone changes a closed status without authority | Record the exception, restore the last approved state and ask the named owner to review |
The template is a good fit when your team has recurring agreements, can name the owner of each decision and needs one operational view of upcoming dates. If the source documents, ownership rules or approval process are still unclear, map those decisions before importing live records.
How to start
- Read Setup and acknowledge the legal-boundary, Formula-to-automation, action-cap, and no-marketplace caveats.
- Create the board from the column recipe, or import
csv/register-import.csv. - Leave Config
as_of_dateat 8 September 2026 while you walk Case01 through Case07. - Confirm case 3 blocks a renewal decision and case 7 does not auto-renew.
- Read the paired guide: monday.com Contract Tracker.
- Keep the parent Contract Tracker and Contract Register and Renewal Template nearby for the shared schema.
- Platform twins that may help: Google Sheets Contract Tracker and SharePoint / Microsoft Lists Contract Tracker. Use Document Approval Workflow only as the approval_status pointer.
If owners, notice windows, or the destination register are still unclear, start with an AI Success Audit. If they are named, book a fit call to scope an AI Automation Systems build.
