AI Automation Services in Canada: What a Production Engagement Includes

A plain-language explanation of what a serious AI automation services engagement includes from prioritization through implementation and ownership.

— Craig Major

AI automation services should include more than connecting a model to an application. A serious engagement defines the business outcome, maps the workflow, builds the system, tests difficult cases, documents ownership, and measures what changed.

The engagement has four parts

1. Prioritization

Start with the operational problem, not the preferred tool. A paid AI Success Audit can rank opportunities by impact, feasibility, risk, and time to value, then recommend one first build.

2. System design

Map triggers, inputs, systems, decisions, handoffs, exceptions, and human checkpoints. Decide where AI prepares context, where automation performs a rules-based action, and where a person must approve.

3. Implementation

Build the smallest useful workflow around the systems the business already uses. Include error handling, permissions, logs, retries, and a visible path for a person to correct the result.

4. Adoption and ownership

Document the workflow, train the people who use it, define an owner, and review the baseline after launch. If several priorities need ongoing governance, a Fractional Chief Automation Officer can provide that ownership layer.

Questions to ask before choosing a provider

  • What exact workflow is included?
  • What is out of scope?
  • Which systems and data are required?
  • How are exceptions and failed runs handled?
  • Who owns the system after launch?
  • What will be measured and when?
  • What remains human?

Be cautious with “fully autonomous” promises that do not explain the mechanism, boundaries, or accountability.

Flowgrammer’s current working offers

As of 14 September 2026, the AI Success Audit is $2,500 CAD fixed. AI Automation Systems start at $7,500 CAD, with most Flowgrammer projects scoped from $12,500 to $25,000 CAD. Fractional CAO leadership starts at $3,000 CAD per month, with implementation scoped separately. These are Flowgrammer's published prices; the approved requirements determine the final quote.

Discuss an AI Automation System, or start with an AI Success Audit when the first project is unclear.

Is a Canadian provider required?

The right fit depends on the workflow, data, access, and ownership model. A Canadian team may be useful when Canadian operations, time zones, privacy requirements, and local context matter. Evaluate the actual implementation and handoff plan.
