Define the Offer and Research Decision

Choose one offer, customer, geography, exclusion set, and decision the research should improve.

What you will complete

A business research brief precise enough to search and narrow enough to test.

Make the operating decision

Name one offer, the organizations it can serve, required geography, operating conditions, explicit exclusions, and the decision the report supports. A candidate for review is not automatically a sales opportunity. The first decision may simply be whether an operator should inspect the source and ask one research question.

Write what the agent may read, retain, infer, draft, and never do. Keep personal data to the minimum required for professional relevance. A company event should normally lead to an organizational contact route; a public forum request can link to its original thread without identifying the author elsewhere.

Define v0 as an on-demand capped report. CRM writes, contact enrichment, automatic schedules, and outreach are separate future decisions. State the output location, retention rule, and review owner. If the offer or buyer remains unclear, stop and repair the business brief.

Worked fictional example: Harborline Safety Training

The fictional Harborline Safety Training offers warehouse onboarding in Hamilton. Its research decision is whether a public business event merits manual account review. The agent cannot decide that a company needs training or has budget.

Harborline Safety Training, Northstar Distribution, Dockside Logistics, Westbank Storage, all events, excerpts, people, and URLs are fictional fixtures. They do not prove a live source, lead, contact route, or business outcome.

Complete workbook section 1

Use the evidence available for your own bounded job. Write unknown when the evidence is missing, and record the person or action that can resolve it.

  1. Name the offer, customer, geography, and exclusions.
  2. Define what enters review and what that status does not mean.
  3. Record allowed data and prohibited actions.
  4. Set the capped on-demand output and owner.

Critical gate before continuing

  • The brief is specific enough to search.
  • Review status is separate from purchase intent.
  • Personal data is minimized.
  • External actions are outside v0.

If a gate fails, repair the current section, narrow the scope, leave the route manual, or record a blocked or stop decision. Continuing is not the only successful learner action.

Common failure modes

  • Expanding beyond a business research brief precise enough to search and narrow enough to test. before the current artifact can be graded.
  • Turning a missing value, unavailable source, or blocked integration into a confident conclusion.
  • Treating a prompt instruction as proof that the effective tool or permission boundary works.
  • Marking a manual, simulated, or untested route as live.

Check your application

1. What should the first research status mean?

Explained answer: The evidence merits human review under written rules. Review priority is an operating decision, not a claim about private intent.

2. What belongs in v0?

Explained answer: A capped on-demand evidence report. A bounded report can be verified before integrations and volume.

3. When should the build stop early?

Explained answer: When the offer or target decision is too vague to search. Unclear business scope cannot be repaired by collecting more data.
